General FAQ: JOLLY GREEN

How did the Jolly Green Paintball Team (JG) start?
The Jolly Green Paintball Team was originally a local woodsball team. The team was started by several local players who all met while playing paintball at local fields. The team grew relatively quickly as word spread and the team started playing more events and tournaments.

Why the name, Jolly Green?
Originally, the name started as something different and fun, but we soon found out that an honorable group of men used the same name in the Vietnam War. Rescue helicopters were call Jolly Green’s, they were known for being fearless for flying into the thickest firefights to deliver support and rescue injured soldiers. We have embraced this same mindset on the field when we play scenarios. No matter what we encounter on the field we approach every situation as a team.

What is with the 3 leaf clovers?
Our roster has several members with an Irish heritage. The 3 leaf clover also reflects our team motto “No Luck Necessary”.

What kind of team is the Jolly Green?

Jolly Green is primarily a scenario team, but we also play in local and national tournaments. We pride ourselves on our aggressive playing style, if we are at a scenario you can guarantee you will see Jolly Green players in bright green shirts at the front lines ready for battle. We aren’t your typical Role Playing or Mil-Sim style team, we want to be on the front line in the thickest fire fight on the field.

Why do you guys wear bright green?
Visibility. Kelly Green is the same color that is used on most street signs and some studies show that is one of the most visually attractive colors to the human eye. With that said, it comes down to marketability. When people see bright green shirts on the field they associate it with the JG. It also helps our teammates find us on the field.

How many members do you have?
Jolly Green Paintball Team has an active roster of 20 members. The team currently has members living in Oklahoma, Texas & Ohio.

So what are the goals of the Jolly Green?
Jolly Green’s goal is to become one of the premier scenario teams in the Midwest & in the country. Jolly Green also strives to promote the sport of paintball and get new and younger players involved in the sport.
